More than seven out of ten Darlington County high school students passed the state’s exit exam on their first attempt in spring 2009, according to results released by the State Department of Education.

Darlington County School District & Hartsville High Exceed State SAT Average; Mayo Tops National Average

Two county high schools and the district as a whole have exceeded the state average for SAT scores, and a third high school raised their average SAT score by 149 points over the previous year. In a report released today by the SC Department of Education and the College Board, Mayo High School has topped the national average; Hartsville High exceeded the state average, and Darlington High has increased their composite SAT score by 149 points over the previous year. The District’s average composite SAT has also exceeded the state’s average composite score.
