DARLINGTON, S.C. – The Darlington County School District offered its sincere thanks today to the Hartsville-based Hilex Poly Company, a subsidiary of Novolex, for its recent donation of recyclable plastic bags to the district’s warehouse.
The warehouse staff uses the bags to transport small but important items each day to maintenance crews across the district’s system of 23 schools. Without the donation of several cases of bags, the district would have to purchase them.
Nan Johnson, DCSD procurement specialist, said Charlie Gardner, DCSD warehouse manager, informed the warehouse had run short of bags to transport items and would need to purchase more. The two decided to get in contact with Hilex Poly, which manufactures the “t-shirt” style bags.
With the help of Jim Nelson, Hilex Poly’s director of Customer Service, Retail Bag and Can Liner, as well as Samantha Norton, Inside Sales/Customer Service representative, the company graciously made the donation.
The cases of bags donated will last the district several months, Gardner said.
