DARLINGTON, S.C. -- Students in the Darlington County School District missed seven student days as a result of Hurricane Matthew. As required by law, the district will make up three of the missed days by using the inclement weather days noted on the district calendar.
As a result, Feb. 20, March 17, and May 12 will be regular school days. The Darlington County Board of Education has not made any decisions about the remaining four missed student days.
Thursday, Oct. 20 will be a regular school day. Students will not be dismissed early on Thursday, Oct. 20. A revised calendar will be on the district’s website for parents to download as needed.
Several deadlines and dates have changed as a result of the recent inclement weather.
The end of the first quarter has been changed to Oct. 28, and report cards will be sent home on Nov. 4.
The deadline for families to apply for the magnet programs in the Darlington County School District has been extended to Friday, Oct. 28.
