Darlington County School District hires Kimberly Nelson as safety, security and risk management technician
DARLINGTON, S.C. – The Darlington County School District (DCSD) has hired Kimberly Nelson to be the district’s safety, security and risk management technician.
Nelson spent nearly two decades as an officer with the Darlington Police Department, rising to the rank of lieutenant.
“She brings a career’s worth of knowledge, experience and leadership in public safety to the Darlington County School District’s administrative team,” said Dr. Eddie Ingram, DCSD superintendent. “We look forward to her joining the district.”
Nelson will provide and help administer safety, security and risk management programs for the school district and its schools. She will serve as a member of the district’s Incident Response Team, help develop district policies and investigate workers’ compensation and property insurance claims.
“After a great 18 years of working with the Darlington Police Department, I’m excited to begin a new journey with the Darlington County School District,” Nelson said. “I look forward to the new adventure and continuing to serve the citizens of Darlington County.”
Nelson holds an Associate of Arts in criminal justice from Florence-Darlington Technical College, a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Coker College, a Master of Arts in management and leadership from Webster University and a Criminal Justice Post-Master’s Certificate from Northcentral University.
