Following tradition, Fender’s winning artwork of wintry critters “dressing” a snowman will be featured on DCSD’s official holiday card. Also, Fender will receive a certificate, $50 and a packet of the holiday cards. Her art teacher, Lyn O’Donnell, will receive $100 for art supplies for Mayo High School.

The Darlington County Board of Education will recognize Fender at its December meeting.

High school students in DCSD competed in the contest this year, which operates on a rotating schedule. Next year, the contest will be open to DCSD elementary school students.
