Hartsville, S.C. – Washington Street Elementary School students had the opportunity to meet their teachers and receive school supplies recently via the schoolwide “Bus Tour and Back-to-School Bash.”

On Aug. 14, Washington Street Elementary faculty and staff went on a bus tour to local neighborhoods served by the school. The faculty and staff delivered book bags and school supplies to students of Washington Street Elementary. The bus made four stops along the way, dispersing lots of supplies to prepare students for the 2017-18 school year.

Two days later, Washington Street Elementary hosted the annual “Back-to-School Bash,” welcoming students, parents and school families. Students had the opportunity to meet their teachers, visit classrooms, win door prizes, choose their “Houses” for the schoolwide “House system” being implemented this year, and have dinner with the school community.

Washington Street Elementary is looking forward to a wonderful 2017-18 school year with many more opportunities for parent and community involvement to best meet the needs of all students.
