Dr. Eddie Ingram
Superintendent of the Darlington County School District
A native of Elizabeth City, NC, Eddie Ingram is a 32-year veteran of public education. He began his career teaching English and Latin at his high school alma mater, Northeastern High School, where he also coached basketball and tennis. Since his early years at NHS, Eddie went on to become a principal of an elementary year-round school, and three different high schools. Dr. Ingram also served as the Section Chief for Teacher Education at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. He also has worked at the district administration office level as a district personnel director, executive director for curriculum, and county athletic director. Eddie retired from NC Public Schools as the superintendent for Franklin County Schools. He joined the Darlington County School District as superintendent in 2013.
Dr. Ingram holds a Bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University, and two master’s degrees and a doctorate from East Carolina University. He has received various awards over the years for teaching as well as leadership.
Eddie has been a speaker and presenter at state and national conferences, and an adjunct professor of curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
He is the husband of Sue Cataen-Ingram, and is the proud father of three daughters and one granddaughter.
