Dr. Knight received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Francis Marion College in 1977 and a Master's Degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina in 1980. In 1991, she earned her Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of South Carolina.
She has been a teacher and a coach at Cheraw High School; an adjunct instructor at the University of South Carolina; an educational computer specialist at the University of South Carolina; an educational program specialist at the South Carolina State Department of Education; a secondary coordinator; a principal at Mayo High School for Math, Science and Technology; and an associate superintendent for secondary education at the Darlington County School District.
Dr. Knight is a former member of the Board of Trustees at Francis Marion University and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at the Pee Dee Education Center, the Rubicon Board of Directors, the Darlington County Economic Development Board, and the Board of Directors for the Darlington County Free Clinic.
She has one son, Harris, who resides in Charleston. |
