What is the purpose of the PTO?

The purpose of the PTO is to have a set place and time for parents and school staff to get together and brainstorm ways they can work together to help the students at Darlington High School.  It is also a safe place for parents to ask questions and give suggestions as well as a place for school staff to share information and get parent input on ways to make our school better.

Is fundraising a role of the PTO?

Since many of the ideas suggested to help the school do require money to implement, the PTO has made fundraising a regular part of their purpose. The group discusses short term needs or wants as well as long range goals.  These discussions lead the group into deciding what type of fundraising needs to be done each year.  Last year, the PTO sponsored a nonprofit event called Falcon Fest.  At Falcon Fest, the DHS faculty, staff, and students showcased the many talents and work that goes on at DHS.

How can I join?

You can join at any PTO meeting (usually the 2nd Thursday of each month) or please call the school for more information at 843-398-2730.
